Communications Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah is urging Muslims in the country to commit the success of this year's general elections into the hands of Allah as they mark the end of the Ramadan month.
The Minister said the observation of the holy month of Ramadan should be used to intensify the peaceful co-existence between all political parties and its followers since that is crucial for Ghana to achieve its set goals.
This was said on behalf of the Minister by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency secretary for the area when he presented bags of rice, sugar and assorted items to the Muslim community in New Juaben North constituency where he hails from.
Mr. Ali Abubakar Akyena who presented the items also wished all Muslims a peaceful and successful ending as they go through the final days of the Ramadan.
Mr Akyena said it is Dr Boamah's hope that the Eid-Fitr celebrations go well and urged all Muslims to desist from acts that will drag the name of Islam and Muslims into disrepute.
The celebrations he said must be measured so it is ended without incidents.
He expressed optimism about President John Mahama's victory in the general elections.
He, therefore, appealed to all and sundry to measure his performance by the numerous developmental projects he has undertaken and give him another chance.
