Leading sponsors of the Stars, GNPC,have now seet sights on supporting others sports in Ghana as they have just done by helping the GOC send the athletes to Rio for the Olympic Games.
The Petroleum firm made their intention known at the cocktail party to send off Ghana's contingent for the Rio Olympics.
This was made through the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alex Mould, who revealed that one of their cornerstone pillars is to support sports in their cooperate social responsibility and as such will be supporting other sports in Ghana.
“Everybody knows GNPC supports the Black Stars but they do not know we support other sports also. We are discussing with the various sporting bodies and the Ministry of Sports to see how we can assist in ensuring that Ghana steps up once again to the pedestal everybody knows us to be,” he said.
“We will be supporting hockey, swimming, boxing and other various areas. We will be working with Ministry of Sports as well as the various sporting bodies to ensure that we support you in the years coming so that we are able to qualify many athletes for the next Olympic Games to be hosted in Japan."
GNPC supported Team Ghana with a whopping $120,000 for Rio Olympic Games.
