The modern global game of football was first codified in 1863 in London. At the time it was only men who played football but the game has for some decades now evolved with women also taking part at the highest level in countries including Ghana.
Joy Sports Benedict Owusu has put together a hotline documentary about how women’s football started in Ghana and the struggle and frustration girls go through playing football in this country.
