Stevan Jovetic’s stoppage time strike blew open the Spanish title race, securing an enthralling 2-1 comeback win for Sevilla and ending Real Madrid’s unbeaten run.
Jorge Sampaoli’s side scored two late goals to turn the match around and claim all three points, moving them to within just a single point of Real Madrid at the top of the Liga table, also allowing Barcelona back into the championship fold.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave Zinedine Zidane’s side the lead from the penalty spot after 67 minutes, finding the bottom corner of the net following a reckless foul on Dani Carvajal from goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
Real Madrid looked on course to extend their unbeaten run to 41 games, simultaneously stretching their advantage at the top of the table, only for Sevilla to hit back late on, first through a Sergio Ramos own goal and then a long range finish from Jovetic, catching out Keylor Navas.
