Thirty table tennis coaches have completed a five-day intensive training course at Sekondi organised by the National Sports Council (NSC) in collaboration with the Table Tennis Association of Ghana.The course was under the theme, “Selling Table Tennis to a million stars to shine in their communities."Mrs Veronica Nelson, Deputy Western Regional Director of Education said sporting activities forms part of education and stressed that the region could market itself through sports development and participation.She said the region abounds in sporting talents and therefore all efforts are to be made to groom the youth adequately to enable them win laurels in future tournaments for the region and the country.Mrs. Nelson said sports requires hard work and dedication and so urged sports enthusiasts to train hard, be confident and disciplined in their daily activities.Mr. Ayub Morgan, the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Director of Education reminded the beneficiaries of the benefits of the training which is to assist their other colleagues to be abreast with the techniques of tennis coaching, adding that "Your newly acquired skills should transform the future development of sports in the region".Source: GNA
