Information Minister Mustapha Hamid has announced plans to translate major documents in six major Ghanaian languages to make it easier in communicating government policies to the people.
When translated, these policies in Ewe, Dagbani, Housa, Ga Akan and Nzema would be made available to the media for onward dissemination to the people across the various regions of the country.
The minister said this will enable people who cannot read the English language have the chance to read and understand government policies and other programs.
“We want at any point in time, a feeling of government across the country without citizens feeling that government is centralized government only in Accra” he said.
The minister disclosed these when he met the press at Ho in the Volta Region, Monday, after a retreat held by his ministry over the weekend.

According to Hamid, there is the need to draw everybody into the governance bracket of the country irrespective of the language spoken.
“We want all Ghanaians to be part of the governance process and we will make sure it is achieved," the minister stated.
He also said there is going to be a regular meet the press series in all regions with the ministers periodically making themselves available for interviews and interaction with the citizenry.
Hamid also announced there will be national summits to be held on various programmes with the purpose of bringing stakeholders to critique the policies of the government and fine tune them for effective delivery.
The minister assured of government's commitment to improving their standards of living.
