The Ghana Football Association has finally revealed its support for racially abused Sulley Muntari.

Muntari suffered racial insults from Cagliari fans whilst in action for Pescara in a Serie A clash.

The former Ghana international walked off after match ref booked him for dissent after complaining he was being racially abused by fans.

He has bizarrely been handed a match suspension by the Disciplinary Commission of Italian football.

The decision has been widely criticised with Fifpro United Nations, KICK IT OUT - football’s equality and inclusion organization, and some former and present Black players offering support and calling for Muntari’s suspension to be rescinded but the GFA were mute.

However, on Friday – five days after the incident and receiving public backlash – the Association have come to the defense of the ace midfielder, who until being suspended in 2014 for unruly behavior, had been a good servant to the country.

The FA through their official twitter handle revealed they had made contact with the player and were in serious discussions with the right authorities to find an amicable solution to racism.

Also Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Hadzidze in an interview with Citi FM condemned the attack on the footballer.

“Racism of any kind is an action that must be condemned by all. We as the Ministry of Youth and Sports unequivocally condemn the racist attack that was targeted at Sulley Muntari. We condemn it in no uncertain terms and we are calling on football governing bodies across the world and particularly the football governing body of Italy to investigate the circumstances under which he [Muntari] rather became the one who was punished and the fans of the team that were shouting the racists slurs and insults at Muntari rather have been left off the hook.”
