Pollster Ben Ephson believes any announcement by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in respect of the Vice presidential candidate will take the heat on the ruling government.He is convinced the National Democratic Congress is sweating under the ongoing Woyome scandal and any announcement too soon of a New Patriotic Party vice presidential candidate could give the NDC a reprieve.The Council of Elders of the NPP met Tuesday to, among other things, consider the choice of a vice presidential candidate for the party.After several hours the meeting ended with no official announcement as to who the candidate is.Head of Communication Nana Akomea told Joy News’ Evans Mensah the choice of a running mate was originally not part of the day’s meeting.He cautioned stalwarts of the party to be circumspect in lobbying for one candidate or another for the vice presidential slot.He said if the flagbearer is ready with his candidate, he will make it known to the Council of elders after which an emergency council meeting will be called for a formal announcement to be made.In a reaction, Ben Ephson told Joy News the NPP may be delaying the announcement for good reasons.According to him, the NPP is better off allowing the Woyome controversy to fester more before announcing the Vice Presidential candidate.
