Accra Giants thumped Ashanti Warriors 4-1 to emerge champions of the 2018 edition of the Binatone Challenge Cup.
The four-team tournament held at the Accra Sports Stadium was a key test for the International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) ahead of their maiden Africa Cup of Nations in March.
The Giants who made it to the final after thrashing Western Tigers 5-1 proved too strong for the Warriors who only went home with a consolation goal.
The Giants, led by the skipper of the national team, Gariba, entertained the packed crowd with some breath-taking performances to take home the giant trophy and cash prize.
The tournament which was organized by IFSS in partnership with Binatone seeks to afford coaches of the national skate team an opportunity to assess players for possible call-ups ahead of the 2018 Africa Skate Soccer Championship in March.
Western Tigers pipped Zongo Lions 1-0 to occupy the third position.
Speaking to pressmen after the competition, the CEO of IFSS, Albert Frimpong expressed optimism that the competition will help the coaches the identify the best players for Ghana ahead of the Africa Skate Soccer championship in March.
He lauded headline sponsors, Binatone, and the media for their support to the federation.
Albert Frimpong also expressed appreciation Diamond Cement, Hyundai, Vitabiotics, Jumia, B5 Plus, Afriglobal Group and Zenith Bank for making the event a success.
