The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the Ashanti Regional Directorate to investigate allegations of mass sexual abuse of students at Ejisuman Senior High School.
Some parents are calling for the transfer of teachers at the Ashanti Region school following reports that some of them constantly harass students for sex in exchange for good grades.
GES Public Relations Officer, Cassandra Ampofo, says the team was dispatched to look into the matter because it the Service considers such reports a serious matter.
“We’ve not received any official complaint. What we relied on is what we read in the Chronicle [newspaper] yesterday, and we understand that one of our students also spoke on one of the local radio stations in Kumasi. So based on that information, we asked the Ashanti Regional Director to quickly investigate,” she told Joy News.

The Ejisuman SHS investigation is coming in the wake a leaked sex tape of a head teacher and a 19-year-old student.
Headteacher sacked
The GES has sacked Robert Seppey, the administrator of the Breman Adamanu D/A Basic School whose sex tape with a student has gone viral.
The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Directorate of the GES on Wednesday ordered Mr Seppey to hand over the relevant documents to his supervisor.
A release issued on Tuesday by the District Director of Education, Isaac Godwin Kwesi Acquaah-Arhin, said the head teacher, who is believed to be in his forties confessed to the Education Directorate on January 19, that he was indeed the one in the video.
It also says the head teacher pleaded to be forgiven for his conduct, but he was instead ordered to report to the office to hand over his responsibility to the circuit supervisor, to enable him to assist the police in their investigations.
