Registration assistants at Sampa in the Jaman North in the Bono Ahafo Region are threatening to boycott the biometric exercise over unpaid allowances.
The say authorities have failed to pay them training, feeding and transportation allowances when their colleagues in other places have received their monies.
One of them spoke to Luv FM from Sampa, on condition of anonymity.
“When we were doing the training, we heard from other sister regions that they are giving them allowance of ¢14.00 per training we did not receive anything of that [nature].
“And other regions are telling us they give them food everyday and we are not having anything here and even travelling allowance we hear other regions they are giving the polling station they are giving them ¢100.00 and other things we do not have anything like that here.
“We are just working here for nothing,” he lamented swearing they will boycott the exercise if authorities do not address their grievances.
Bono Ahafo Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, George Gyabaah, denied the claims explaining what is due the registration assistants have been paid.
He urged the agitated assistants to channel their grievances to the regional office for attention, but called their bluff on the threat to boycott the exercise.
