The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations is to organise a special auditioning for performing artistes as well as sports men and women during the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament.The two-day audition and interview session, which comes off at the Trade Fair Centre, Accra is scheduled for Saturday, September 29- Sunday, September 30 from 10.00am to 1 p.m.A statement signed by Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of the LOC stated that group leaders, field assistants (3000 required) as well as acrobats, jugglers, cyclists, roller - skaters (2000 required) will have their turn on Saturday, September 22 at Pavilions A and B respectively.Other artists include traditional dancers and musicians, neo-traditional dancers, free style dancers, contemporary African dancers, high life dancers, choral musicians (group), high life musicians (solo), gospel musicians (solo) and hip life musicians who would have their session on Sunday, September 23 at the Pavilions A, B and C.The statement added that the allocation for this group is 250.Interested persons or groups are expected to come along with their appropriate dressings and implements needed for the exercise.The opening ceremony for the Can 2008 is scheduled for January 20, at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra with the closing date fixed for February 10, at the same venue.Source: GNA
