The five African nations at this year's World Cup have varied stories to tell. Some, checkered; others, fairly decent.

Joy FM will be the official rights holder for radio broadcast rights in Ghana for the tournament. Let's look at the teams.

EGYPT

Qualified for the 1934 World Cup in Italy, and was eliminated at the preliminary stage after losing 4-2 to Hungary.

Qualified for the 1990 World Cup, again in Italy, and was eliminated ocne more at the group stage. They shared a group with England, Republic of Ireland, and the Netherlands and finished with two points.

SENEGAL

Qualified for the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup and reached the quarterfinals, but were eliminated by Turkey.

TUNISIA

Qualified for the 1978 World Cup in Argentina and finished third with 3 points. The group had Poland, Germany, and Mexico.

Qualified for the France 1998 World Cup, was in the same group with Romania, England and Colombia. Finished fourth with a point.

Qualified for the 2002 Korea/Japan event, was in same group with Japan, Belgium, and Russia. Finished fourth with a point.

Qualified for the 2006 Germany  tournament and featured in group with Spain, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia. Finished with just a point.

NIGERIA 

Played at the 1994 USA World Cup, reached the round of 16 and eliminated 2-1 by Italy after extra time.

Qualified for the France 1998 event, reached the  round of 16, played Denmark but was beaten 4-1.

Qualified for the Korea/Japan 2002 tournament, shared a group with Sweden, England, and Argentina. Finished bottom with a point.

Qualified for the 2010 South Africa World Cup. Was in group with Argentina, Korea Rep, and Greece. Finished with a point.

Qualified for the Brazil 2014 event, reached the round 16 and eliminated by France.

MOROCCO 

Qualified for the Mexico 1970 World Cup, was in group with Germany, Peru, and Bulgaria. Finished fourth with a point.

Qualified for the 1986 Mexico tournament, eliminated at the round of 16 by Germany.

Qualified for the 1994 USA World Cup, was in same group as the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium. Finished bottom with a point.

Qualified for the 1998 France tournament and shared a group with Brazil, Norway, and Scotland. Finished third with four points.
