In the sponsorship deal, Medifem is providing a healthcare package which will see all nine finalists of the 2018 edition of the Quiz receive free primary healthcare from the facility for a one-year-period.
The hospital will also be providing primary healthcare cover to the competing students, teachers and production crew during the production of the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival.
At a brief signing ceremony, Mrs. Wilhelmina Banful, Hospital Manager for Medifem Hospital explained that the move is part of Medifem hospital’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives in the educational sector and more especially, promoting the study of Science and Mathematics amongst High school students.

“We have taken the decision to support this competition because its objectives are in line with our social initiatives philosophy. Science and Mathematics are critical to the development of the nation and we must encourage our students to take them serious. Our aim is to help lift educational standards and we are doing this as part of our commitment to the future of this country” Mrs. Banful said.
Commenting on the deal and its significance for the contest, Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, Managing Director for Primetime Limited, organizers of the Quiz said “we are thrilled to be working with Medifem Hospital. There is a very strong alignment between the objectives of both Medifem and Primetime as we all seek to promote the study of Science and Mathematics and we are happy that Medifem is partnering us in this regard. We believe this will not only help us cater for minor health incidents that may occur during the competition, but will also boost the morale of the contestants who are the ultimate beneficiaries”.
It is the first time a healthcare sponsorship of this nature is being provided for a national educational contest and this clearly underlines Medifem’s commitment to pioneering innovations in social initiatives within the health sector.
