Rapper Sarkodie, who recently got married to his longtime sweetheart, says marriage is not for everyone.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the ‘Can’t Let You Go’ hitmaker noted that not everybody is destined to get married.
He stressed that marriage is a journey that needs proper thought before one decides to enter into it.
Sarkodie noted that with the little experience that he has from a long relationship with his wife, he has come to the realisation that it is very dangerous to get married out of pressure.
“…Marriage is not for everyone. You have to do it based on how you feel. You are not supposed to do it because someone got married and you feel you are under pressure to do so. Some people can’t function when they have been locked down but I function more with that…,” he said.
The rapper also added that it is bad to put pressure on people to tie the knot.
According to him, it causes more harm to marriages than people actually think.
“…It’s not for everybody so let’s stop putting pressure on people to get married. It’s not the best. Tracy and I have known it each other for a long while so for me I was sure…,” he told Andy Dosty
Sarkodie married Tracy after dating for over a decade. The ceremony took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra and was strictly by invitation.
The two have a beautiful daughter, Titi.
