The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded.
This was after he was arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court 9 earlier today.
He has been remanded into police custody.
The NPP official is scheduled to reappear on Friday, 12 September 2025.
According to the Ghana Police Service, Abronye was arrested on September 8, under charges of "offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace".
He was brought before the Accra Circuit Court today, where bail was denied by the presiding judge.
This legal action follows Abronye’s recent political asylum applications to eight countries, namely: Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany, citing threats to his safety and political persecution.
