Some residents in parts of Accra reported an earth tremor early Wednesday morning. They say the tremor lasted for just a few seconds.
Some of those who experienced the tremor called into Joy FM and narrated their experiences, saying their buildings shook and inspired fear in them.
A Seismologist at the University of Ghana, Mawuli Akoto said more earth tremors should be expected.
He said the tremors were not new and that until the University’s equipment for measuring tremors in the capital broke down, a number of tremors used to be recorded almost on a monthly basis.
He said the department needed equipment to measure earth tremors to know where major and small tremors are recorded and experienced.
