Allegations of incompetence of Greater Accra NDC Executives by MP for Ablekuma Central, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie have been shot down by Greater Regional Minister, Joseph Ade Coker.
According to Ade Coker, the accusation lacks merit, adding he is scandalised by the MP's accusations.
The Ablekuma Central MP, Mr Chaie said on Asempa FM, Monday, that recent law suits that have hit party’s regional elections have been the outcome of “incompetence of the regional executives”.
Though some constituencies in the region were able to hold their elections on Sunday, September 14, 2014, elections in Ningo, Tema Central, Ayawaso and other constituencies could not come off due to the injuction.
The injunction was placed on the elections by some party executives challenging the eligibility of executives of 24 branches of the party constituency.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, the Ablekuma Central MP said the party executives are chasing political appointments instead of focusing on party matters.
He said a dearth of proper leadership by the NDC executives is the bane of NDC’s progress, adding that the party risks losing elections in 2016 if the situation persists.
But Ade Coker said the MP was not serious because the best thing he (MP) should have done was visit the regions “and find out what is happening in the reigons before they go on air and shoot their mouth off.”
Ade Coker is not the only party executive disheartened by the Tetteh Chaie’s comments.
Greater Accra Regional Organizer, Anthony Nukpenu, also launched a scalding attack on Mr Chaie’s allegations Monday, on Top Story on Joy 99.7 FM.
He said the accusation was false and lacked basis.
