The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has apologised to Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Defence Minister-designate, following a misunderstanding over his scheduled appearance for vetting.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 28th January, when Dr Omane Boamah arrived later than expected, prompting the Minority Leader to rebuke him for tardiness.
In a surprising turn of events, it emerged that the delay was due to a miscommunication regarding the time allocated to the nominee.
After completing his vetting, Dr Omane Boamah received a formal apology from Mr Afenyo-Markin, who acknowledged the error and took responsibility for his earlier remarks.
“Dr Omane Boamah, in the morning, I had certain comments with regards to the lateness, and I think some persons who listened or viewed wouldn’t, but it seems there was a miscommunication about the time that was given to you. So I want to say sorry to you,” Mr Afenyo-Markin stated during the proceedings.
The Defence Minister-designate accepted the apology, paving the way for a more cordial conclusion to the vetting process.
