Ghana’s Joseph Kingkong Agbeko will on Thursday evening defend his IBF Bantamweight title against hard punching Nicaragua's William Gonzalez in New Jersey.
Agbeko, 28, mounts his defense 15 months after he battered the then IBF champion Luis Perez to pulp.
Agbeko (25-1, 22 KOs) has dismissed fears of being rusty, insisting, the world will know he is the “one and only living Kingkong.”
He told Joy News, his preparation for this bout is without question.
The rather diminutive boxer is noted for his agility and swift punches and has promised to send hell fire down the holy shrines of his opponent in a bout pundits predict will be tasking for both boxers.
William Gonzalez, (20-2, 18 KOs), is also noted for his dazing punches which sent most of his opponents kissing the canvas before the stipulated 12 rounds.
This evening’s bout is under the patronage of renowned promoter Don King and is co-feature of another IBF cruiserweight bout between Steve Cunningham and Tomasz Adamek.
