Striker Junior Agogo says Ghana will triumph over Benin in Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Benin even though he is not part of the squad that will play the Squirrels at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The Egypt-based was left out of coach Milovan Rajevac's team for the Group D game after falling because of the limited playing time he had at his club Zamalek.
Despite not being part of the squad, Agogo is confident the Black Stars will hit the ground running with a victory over Benin.
"There are capable men in the Ghana team and there is no way Benin is going to stop us in Kumasi on Sunday," Agogo told MTNFootball.
"I have spoken to my colleagues in camp and the morale is high but we are not underrating Benin but we will beat them.
"There are no minnows in Africa football today let alone playing in the second phase of the World Cup qualifiers.
"It is going to be very tough but my colleagues will fight to ensure that we get all the three points at stake."
Agogo fell out with the management team of his Egyptian club which led to the bit-part role he has played for the club since joining them at the start of the season.
The former Nottingham Forest striker is confident of returning to the national team as he seeks to find a solution to his problems at Zamalek.
"I have gone through hell here in Egypt and that has led to me being left out of the national team of Ghana," he said.
"The Ghana national team is very close to my heart and I will do whatever I can to get to join my colleagues in the national team.
"I am looking at several options but I want to return to the national team in the next phase of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in June."
The west Africans are bidding to progress to their second consecutive World Cup finals and will need to top Group D ahead of Mali, Benin and Sudan in the final phase of qualifiers if they are to succeed.
