Some citizens of Agogo in the Ashanti Region are petitioning the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to destool the Omanhene of the area, Nana Akuoko Sarpong and other sub chiefs.
Luv FM’s Elton John Brobbey confirmed the presentation of the petition by the angry youth group.
He quoted a source as telling the petitioners that the Asantehene was not interested in destooling chiefs but assured them their concerns would be looked into.
A member of the Agogo Omanbakuo Kwaku Mensah told Joy News that the people say they don’t want Nana Akuoko Sarpong because of his involvement in the Fulani herdsmen issue and other 'atrocities' that he and other sub chiefs in the area have committed.
He said the people no longer see Nana Akuoko Sarpong as their chief.
