Ahli have said for the second time that Ghana international forward Agyemang Opoku will have a trial with the first team ahead of a winter transfer. The Reds, who are desperately looking for an overseas striker, seem to have delayed Opoku's trial last November despite their announcement. Apoku, 23, is expected to train with the team for a few days before a decision is made by manager Hossam Al-Badri. The Ghanaian international, who featured against Egypt in the CAN 2010 final, has been capped seven times by Ghana’s first team, as he can operate as a striker and a winger. He came through the youth setup of Ashanti Gold before having stints at Tunisia’s Sfaxien, Qatari side Al-Sadd and Bulgaria’s Levski Sofia, whom he has joined in the close season. Ahli are largely expected to sign a foreign player in the winter break, given that Dominique da Silva is currently the only non-Egyptian on their books following the loan of Oussou Konan to Hajr.
