Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars Albert Commey is confident his side can still clinch the league title.
The Dormaa side have seen a great transformation in fortunes following a disastrous start to the campaign losing their first three games.
They changed coaches with Romanian Cioaba Aristica returning to the club and for Commey, Aristica deserves plaudits for the turnaround.
“Football is 90 percent scientific and 10 percent luck and with the players we bought, we needed to blend them together with the old ones,” he told Asempa Sports
“It wasn’t easy for us because they have different dynamics and with how things were going on within the club, the coach [Nururdeen Ahmed] said he wants to parts ways with the club and we replaced him with Cioaba Aristica and within that time they are really playing very well.”
“Cioaba Aristica has been at Aduana Stars before and with the kind of quality and dynamics he has brought into the team is awesome and we thank God the players have responded to it.”
“The owner of the team has also paid all the outstanding bonuses in the team so it is very well obvious that the players are very well motivated.”
Commey was still optimistic about his side’s chances of winning their second league title.
“In every season we play to win the league because our mentality is to participate and win the league and with how the performance of the team has increased we are still favorites to win the league.”
“The league is unpredictable because it was a big surprise to everyone when Hearts of Oak lost to Wa All Stars in Accra and with other results that has come up it very difficult to predict it but are still favorites to win the league and we respect all the clubs competing especially Hearts of Oak being on top of the table but we will defeat them when they play us.”
