Ghana Premier League side, Young Apostles, have distanced themselves from Samuel Anim Addo’s social media post criticizing referee Maxwell Hanson.
Anim Addo, a high ranking official, in a long social media post on Thursday, lashed out at the Ghana Football Association and referee Referee Hanson, accusing the FA of using the match official for their ‘dirty work.’
The comments have seen the former GFA Executive Committee member, charged with misconduct by the Ghana FA.
Young Apostles in a statement released few moments after Anim Addo’s misconduct charge said, “Young Apostles FC wishes to clarify that a recent statement made by Mr.
Samuel Anim Addo (Club Official/Member) on social media directed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) does not reflect the views or opinions of our club. We strongly disassociate ourselves from these comments and any sentiments expressed therein.”
Anim Addo also alleged the FA threatened to ensure Young Apostles are relegated following his concerns over officiating in the top flight.
However, the club insist it has a cordial working relationship with the GFA and is committed to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and mutual respect within the football community.
