The Asanteman Europe Association has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Accra.
The non-profit organization comprising Ashantis in European countries said the gesture is to support government’s fight against the global Covid-19 pandemic as part of its corporate social responsibility,
The items include N95 nose masks, surgical face masks, protective gowns, face shields, examination gloves, bottles of Asanteman Europe customized water.
Presenting the items, Nana Afia Agyapomaa Bonsu said the donation is aimed at boosting the capacity of Noguchi, which is a major Covid-19 testing centre in Ghana.
She commended scientists and staff at Noguchi for their sacrifice and job they are doing for the country in the wake of the global crisis.

She also appealed to Ghanaians abroad to emulate their example and support government to win the fight against COVID-19.
“The world requires the support of all in fighting the virus and it is critical that we all contribute to the actions being taken Nana Afia Agyapomaa Bonsu added.
Director of the Noguchi Memorial Institute, Professor Abraham Kwabena Anang, received the donation on behalf of the institute and thanked Asanteman Europe for the support.
He stressed the need for the private sector to support efforts by government in resourcing them and to build the capacity of the Institute in order to cater to the African continent.
Prof Anang also appealed to the private sector and philanthropists to support the centre to deliver timely test results.
