Head coach of Ghana's U-15 girls team, Joyce Boatey-Agyei, has warned South Africa ahead of their meeting with her side at the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship.
The two teams are set to meet in the semifinals of the competition after finishing first and second in Group A and Group B, respectively.
Ghana won all three of their group stage games, beating Morocco, Benin and Malawi in the process. South Africa, on the other hand, recovered from their opening day loss to Uganda and finished as runners-up in their group.
"This is a morale booster for our players, and it's a great message for the opponents to know that we haven't come to play," she said after the final group game.
"The hearts of all Ghanaians are in our hands; we have to make sure that we handle it with care and make them happy."
In South Africa, Ghana will be facing the defending champions of the competition, with the former winning the last edition in Tanzania when they beat Morocco in the final.
Boatey-Agyei's side will be taking a cue from their impressive defensive record, which has seen them concede no goals at the tournament.
However, they will be wary of South Africa's high-scoring team, with 13 goals scored in their last two games against DR Congo and Gambia.
The semifinal games are scheduled to kick off at 14:00 GMT at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, April 25.
