Two scrap dealers have been lynched in Ntensere, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, following allegations that they attempted to steal a child.
According to reports, the victims, identified as Alhasan and Nagolo, were in the community purchasing scrap materials when residents suspected them of trying to abduct a child.
They were reportedly subjected to mob justice, beaten to death, and their motorcycle set ablaze.
Saramatu Zackaria, the Unit Committee Vice Chairperson for Ntensere, confirmed the incident to Adom News reporter Kwadwo Obeng Mireku, noting that no arrests have been made so far.
Eyewitnesses described the situation as chaotic, with the community taking the law into their own hands.
Abdulai Gagala, President of the Ashanti Region Scrap Dealers Association, expressed deep concern over the incident, highlighting the dangers faced by scrap dealers in the area.
Authorities have yet to provide an official response, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
