Obuasi Ashanti-Gold Sporting Club would participate in next season's CAF Champions League Competition if they win the on-going Glo Premier League, Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has announced.
Mr Fianoo said the team currently has "very talented and committed players", who are battle-ready and capable of facing any opposition in Africa.
Ashgold, he said, had good preparation ahead of the premier league and with the team currently on course to winning the premiership title it was only appropriate they play in the Champions League to enhance the club's image and financial base.
Mr Fianoo was interacting with newsmen in Kumasi on the chances of the team in the League after the club has climbed to the summit of the league table with 50 points.
Ashgold was the first Ghanaian club to have appeared in the finals of the maiden Champions League after CAF had changed the old system to its current league system.
The CEO expressed optimism that the team would pick the maximum six points in their last two Premier League matches.
He therefore called on the supporters of the club to rally solidly behind the team to keep their dream on course.
