The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Austria hosted a lively afternoon gathering for the Ghanaian community in Vienna, highlighted by the participation of Ghana’s Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The minister’s presence provided a unique opportunity for attendees to engage directly with a key figure in Ghana’s legal and justice system. Dr. Ayine shared insights into ongoing efforts by his office to combat corruption, notably the “Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL)” initiative, aimed at prosecuting high-profile financial misconduct and recovering misappropriated public funds.

The event, organized under the leadership of Her Excellency Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, was designed to strengthen community ties and foster dialogue between the Embassy and Ghanaians living in Austria.
Attendees enjoyed a warm atmosphere enriched by Ghanaian music, traditional cuisine, and cultural exchanges, all set within the Embassy’s official residency.

Beyond socializing, the gathering served as a platform for the community to discuss consular services, share experiences, and provide feedback to Embassy officials.
Families and children were warmly welcomed, creating an inclusive environment that celebrated Ghanaian heritage while supporting integration into Austrian society.

Participants expressed deep appreciation for the event, highlighting the Ambassador’s accessibility and the meaningful conversations with Dr. Ayine and other Embassy staff.
Many noted that such initiatives are vital for maintaining cultural identity and building supportive networks abroad.

The Embassy of Ghana in Austria plans to continue these community-focused events, encouraging all Ghanaians in Austria to stay connected and involved through upcoming activities and official communication channels.
