The Automation Ghana Group, has supported 25 students of the Batsonaa T.M.A. Primary School with scholarships.

The educational scholarship covers paying levies, providing textbooks, school uniforms, shoes and bags for the school pupils.

The project, dubbed “Future Leaders’ Educational Fund”, is geared towards empowering brilliant but needy students to climb up the educational ladder.

Speaking at a ceremony at the company’s office at Spintex in Accra, CEO of The Automation Ghana Group, Ing. Kweku Asmah said the company will continue to contribute to the education of students..

The Engineering Company also officially launched the ‘Infinity Club’, a project aimed at promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

The project enrolled a total of 60 pupils, set to join the first batch to be trained.

Mr. Asmah said the company intends to expand the project to many more students in the coming years.

“We have started with a group of 60 students and we believe that, if we are successful, we will expand it. We have volunteers who are ready to help us train the children,” he stated.

Touching on the ‘Infinity Club’, Mr. Asmah said it’s geared towards nurturing students who have an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“Our main objective is to help pupils who are brilliant but needy; those who deserve to have basic education but may not able to afford it or are lacking the encouragement and support,” Mr. Asmah said.

“We started with 14 kids five years ago and we have now expanded the scholarship to 25 students. We have also supported the school with projectors, tables and chairs, and we want to take it a step further with the launch of the Infinity Club,” he added.

The Automation Ghana Group connected the primary section of the school to the national grid in 2015 as it launched the Future Leaders’ Educational Fund then.

The company has previously also donated chairs and tables to Baatsona T.M.A. Primary to help mitigate the school’s infrastructural challenges.

The company also donated a projector to facilitate the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.
This is the fifth successive year that Group is providing educational suport to pupils of the Baatsona MA Primary School, having started the initiative in 2014.
