The Greater Accra police command is processing the head pastor of International God’s Way Ministry, Bishop Daniel Obinim, for court for allegedly damaging property and attacking panelists at Accra-based Hot FM.
Bishop Obinim, who was arrested and placed in custody last night was reported to have gone to the studio to protest a discussion of his extra-marital affair.
Greater Accra police PRO, Chief Inspector Kweku Dompreh told Joy News Bishop Obinim admitted to “causing serious bodily harm” to persons at the station.
“He admitted everything in his caution statement; he admitted having gone there; he admitted causing damage to property there; he admitted beating those guys, causing damage to them.”
According to the police, Bishop Obinim later appeared remorseful.
“He was saying he was sorry. He was very angry [which possibly] led him to behave that way.”
Chief Inspector Dompreh said investigators have done substantial work on the case and are expecting the victims’ medical reports, noting that the man of God would be processed for court “as soon as possible”.
