BLAG Ghana Limited, artificial grass expert, has partnered FIFA’s preferred producer and global leader in the supply and installation of synthetic turf systems, GreenFields B.V, to install its Evolution Pro System in the Tano North Sports Complex in the Ahafo Region.
The football pitch, which is the first artificial turf to be installed in the Ahafo Region, is a FIFA quality pro certified system aimed at covering requirements of all football clubs in the area.
The Tano North Sports Complex forms part of the projects being undertaken by BLAG Ghana Limited and its Netherlands-based partners.
Some of the projects being undertaken by Blag Limited are the Apenkwa Community Park in Accra, the Karaga Park in the Northern Region, the Atonsu Park in Kumasi, the Dompim-Tarkwa Field among others.
Following the achievement in the Ahafo Region, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Eddie Dankwa said his outfit was keen on providing community pitches with quality artificial turfs to help in the development of football at the district level.
“We have been in this business for a very long time and our focus is to continue providing our customers with the best of turfs which the Tano North Sports Complex remains an example.
“The focus is to help give every community park a facelift with FIFA-certified artificial grass to help build careers from the grassroots,” Mr Dankwa stated.
He, however, explained that the Tano North pitch represents the top quality FIFA-certified synthetic grass which provides excellent playing characteristics and helps prevent injuries to footballers unlike the others.
“Not every artificial turf is certified by FIFA which can lead to injuries of footballers who play on it. Our focus it to help prevent that, as well as provide night football under floodlights,” he added.
