The Chief of Akyem Jamase in the Eastern region has given a three-day ultimatum to a family to produce their kinsman who has absconded after allegedly killed his wife.
The Chief of the town, Nana Adjei Asiamah IV has warned that the family could be banished if they are unable to hand over Samuel Akorli to the Police.
"Sammy has done an adominable thing in this town.I have given the family till Thursday to produce their son otherwise we will take the law into our own hands. We don't wont to do that."
Samuel Akorli had accused his wife of flirting with different men in the town and in a fit of rage, murdered her.
Samuel Akorli is reported seeking ‘asylum’ in the bush. Nana Adjei Asiamah said people are unable to go to the farm for fear of being attacked by Akorli.
“Cocoa and farm produce are going waste whiles my people die of hunger because of this criminal” he fumed
He is convinced the family knows the whereabouts of the alleged murderer.
"Whenever he hears a strange voice in the farm, he goes deeper into hiding. If he hears his father and his siblings, he will come out," he explained.
Nana Adjei Asiamah also called on the security agencies to intervene in the matter to bring some respite to the people.
