The Akim Swedru Circuit Court has sentenced Alex Ntiamoah, a driver, to five years imprisonment for stealing electronic items valued at GH¢1055.00 from one Gordon Asamani.
Ntiamoah, 28, pleaded guilty to stealing.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah, told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah that Mr Asamani, the complainant, who is a businessman lived at Akim Asene with the convict.
Chief Inspector Ahenkorah said on May 5, Mr Asamani left Akim Asene to Accra on a business trip and when he returned on May 20, he detected the theft of his DVD Player, Amplifier, Sound System, Speaker and CD Plate, valued at GH¢555.00 and a cash of GH¢500.00
Mr Asamani reported the matter to the police who had hint on May 24 that the stolen items were in Ntiamoah's room.
The accused, who was arrested by the police, confessed to the theft.
