The Dagbon Traditional Council has resolved it will resist any move that will lead to the loss of land in the creation of new regions from the Northern region.
This follows demands from some groups and individuals for government to carve two more regions out of the Northern region.
In a communiqué issued by the council after an emergency meeting, the Council said, “the Council resolved that it will not cede any part of Dagbↄŋ lands for the convenience of new regional formations.”
It, however, added that it “It will continue to respect the legitimate demands of identified stakeholders for new regions to be carved out of the Northern Region.”
