The Studios of Joy FM was on Saturday turned into a hot verbal arena during Saturday's Sports Link programme hosted by Nathaniel Attoh.

The topic was supposed to be the controversial 30 Jeep Cherokee given to the Black Stars as gifts by Tanink Ghana and matters arising but in the end the personalities on the show-Peace FM's Dan Kweku Yeboah and Football Association's spokespersons Ibrahim Saani Daara appeared to have personal scores to settle and they did not fail in settling them.

Daara had described Kweku Yeboah's comments on the same issue but on another platform as "bonkers" and the latter was in for a revenge.

Yeboah was one of the journalists who reported that government had donated the 30 Grand Jeep Cherokees to the Black Stars, an allegation, government, the FA had denied.

The CEO of Tanink Ghana Ltd the franchise holders of the Grand Jeep Cherokees in an exclusive interview to Myjoyonline.com debunked claims the government had funded the donation.

Roger Klogo explained that his company and partners put together the package as a redemption to a promise he had made to the Stars to buy cars for the players if they qualified to the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

He said given the sacrifice the players made by playing in a tournament no country wanted to host due to the ebola scare and against country's whose citizens were infected with virus, the Stars needed to be commended and rewarded.

He said except tax waivers given to Tanink by government to import the cars into the country, government played no financial role in the donation.

Despite the intervention by Tanink CEO, Dan Kweku Yeboah is still unconvinced accusing Daara of perpetual lies.

He cited a plethora of cases including the infamous Brazil 2014 fiasco and player revolt saga in which he said the FA spokesperson had been economical with the truth.

Daara denied the allegations against him and defended his use of the word bonkers, saying it also meant irrational and bizzarre.

He said Kweku- Yeboah did himself no favours when he chose the other option for the meaning of bonkers.

The show took another turn when Tony Bebli was called to explain his role in breaking the player revolt story in Brazil.

The livid Tony Bebli spared no effort in dismissing claims by Daara that he did denied ever filing a report in Brazil about the Black Stars revolt.

The situation was calmed thoroughly by Michael Oti Adjei and Kwabena Yeboah both of whom had some insightful comments to make about the Black Stars and matters arising.
