Democracy Hub has announced plans to hold a three-day demonstration from September 21-23 at the Revolution Square, located across Liberation Road, opposite the Jubilee House.
The protest is scheduled to begin each day at 6 am.
In a press statement released on Monday, July 15, Democracy Hub confirmed that it has formally notified the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, in compliance with the Public Order Act.

This notification ensures that the demonstration proceeds with the required legal backing.
The demonstration aims to highlight and address critical issues affecting the country, such as socio-economic injustice, unemployment, and rising poverty.
Additionally, the protest will focus on concerns of state capture, nepotism, and corruption.
Furthermore, the group emphasised the need for judicial independence as a fundamental aspect of their protest.

Democracy Hub believes that addressing these issues is crucial for the betterment of the nation and its citizens.
“Democracy Hub, the Convenor of the #FixTheCountry movement and #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests, wishes to notify the public and media outlets of our upcoming peaceful protest under the theme “A New Constitution for a New Generation.”
“The protest will begin at 6:00 AM on 21st September and conclude at 11:59 PM on 23rd September 2024; and is scheduled to take place at the Revolutionary Square across Liberation Road, opposite the Jubilee House. Democracy Hub has formally notified the Inspector General of Police in accordance with the Public Order Act.
“Purpose of the Protest: This demonstration is organized to address several critical issues plaguing Ghanaian society, with a particular focus on socio-economic injustice, lack of jobs, rising poverty, state capture, nepotism, corruption, and the need for judicial independence," an excerpt of the statement said.
In September 2023, Democracy Hub organised a similar protest, dubbed #OccupyJulorbiHouse, which led to the arrest of some members by the police.
