The Central Regional Police Command has arrested 40-year-old Samuel Bills Acquah following the circulation of a viral video showing him allegedly assaulting his 30-year-old girlfriend in Cape Coast.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, March 29, authorities received a complaint on Friday, March 27 at 9:30 pm indicating that Mr. Acquah had physically assaulted the woman with whom he shares a child. The incident reportedly occurred in Bakano, a community within Cape Coast.
Responding promptly, police officers proceeded to the scene and apprehended the suspect. He is currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations into the alleged offence.

The Central Regional Police Command confirmed that Samuel Bills Acquah will be arraigned before court on March 30, 2026, to face prosecution.
Police have appealed to members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information regarding the case, assuring that the investigation is being conducted thoroughly and in accordance with the law.
The arrest follows growing public concern after the video went viral, highlighting issues of domestic violence and prompting calls for accountability and justice.
