Ghana international, Haminu Dramani would be lining up for the male Olympic team in their first leg qualifying game against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou next month.
The player who is a regular member of the senior side received two separate call ups to feature for both the Black Stars and the Olympics team, the Black Meteors for their impending assignments in February.
Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy included the attacking midfielder in squad for the international friendly against Nigeria on February 6 while Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, coach of the Olympic team also handed Haminu a call up for the game against the Young Stallions, a day after the senior side’s game.
After deliberations, Executive Committee member, Randy Abbey confirmed that the player would skip the senior side’s game to feature for the Olympic team against Burkina Faso.
According to Randy Abbey, who also doubles as the FA spokesperson and head of the Black Meteors management team Haminu’s Black Star mate, Asamoah Gyan would feature for the senior side though he was included in the Olympic team list.
Cecil Jones Attuquayefio and his backroom staff would on Thursday welcome their first set of foreign-based players to camp.
Greek-based Bernard Yao Kumordzi and Emmanuel Boakye who plays in the Dutch Eredivisie would be joining their colleagues in camp before the team’s departure for Ouagadougou on Saturday.
The two players are both uncapped for Ghana.
Prince Tagoe, Nana Kwasi Asare, Mohammed Abubakari, Haminu Dramani, Samuel Yeboah together with Michael Helegbe and Nafiu Iddrisu who have both received call ups would join the rest of the squad in Ouagadougou on Sunday.
Ghana’s male Olympic team would seek to pick one of Africa’s tickets when they begin the qualifiers for a place in the event to be hosted by China.
On Tuesday, the Olympic team completed their second test game with a convincing 3-0 win over division one side, Lepo Stars in Tamale.
Emmanuel Clottey, Eric Bekoe and Michael Akuffo got the goals for the national side.
Earlier on Sunday, the Black Meteors defeated premiership side, Real Tamale United 4-2 in the first test game.
