The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has honoured an invitation from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to answer questions about an alleged GH¢4 million bribe claim.
The OSP’s invitation follows Mr Kotey’s disclosure that he turned down a GH¢4 million bribe allegedly offered to him to halt the rollout of the new Digitalised Vehicle Registration Plate (DP) policy.
He revealed in a recent media interview that some influential individuals attempted to persuade him to abandon the digital plate initiative, which is designed to curb vehicle-related fraud and enhance road safety.

Mr Kotey, who was seen leaving the OSP offices after the engagement, declined to comment when approached by journalists, saying he would address the media at a later date.
In an earlier statement, the OSP confirmed that it is seeking further information from the DVLA boss to verify his claims and identify the individuals behind the alleged bribery attempt.
