The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says reports of staff agitations will not interfere with their core mandate to deliver safe, quality and reliable power to customers.
A press release Saturday signed by Kwame Agyemang-Budu, the Managing Director of the power distribution company, he said they are working in collaboration with the Public Utilities Workers Union (PUWU) to ensure customers are not affected.
He explained that “the agitation relates to the realignment of some staff positions necessitated as a consequence of the termination of the PDS Concession Agreement by ECG.
“Being a change management process, Management of ECG anticipated some challenges in undertaking the necessary realignment and therefore is engaging staff to address these challenges by ensuring a fair and speedy resolution of the issue.”
