Enterprise Life Assurance Company, ELAC has finally begun its operations in The Gambia as the first of a planned expansion into the Africa Sub-region.
The Chief Executive C.C Bruce disclosed this to JOY BUSINESS today when the company released it’s 2011 financials.
The company’s Profit After Tax for the year under review increased from about 9.6 million to over 14 million cedis after recording significant growth in premium income and underwriting profit.
“We have covered a total of 800 thousand lives including third party lives and corporate clients among others. We intend to build on this and cover a lot more" he noted.
"Our strategy is targeted at our sub region and the objective is to export the model which we have successfully implemented in Ghana to other countries in the sub region. Our starting point is the Gambia and operations started a couple of weeks back. We have recruited key staff and its been quiet promising so far” he added.
