Ghana’s number one DJ, DJ Black gave some New Yorkers a night to remember when he took to the turntable to dish out good tunes last Friday.
The African and Caribbean community in New York could not help but scream and praise DJ Black, who rocked the party at the annual New York Midnight Moonlight Cruise on August 7.
Organised by Sam Tuga and DJ Elove, this year's cruise attracted a large and diverse crowd who filled the three decks of the cruise boat on the Hudson River in New York.
On deck to keep the partying going were DJ Black, DJ Albert, DJ Legend, and Soul Selector serving the party with Afrobeats, highlife, hiplife, Soca, coupe decalle, reggae and dancehall music.
With a dress code of African print design, the patronage of the event was impressive. It had the surprise presence of Ghana's rap 'executioner', Obrafour.
When it was DJ Black's turn to spin, his “Royal Blackness” showed his experience and skill with his clever mixes and commanding voice that party lovers could not stop dancing, even long after the boat had docked.
