A Bolgatanga High Court presided over by Mr Paul Richardson has remanded Mamudu Ndekudugu, 35, for robbing two people of their motor bikes and other belongings at Dabia near Pusiga in the Upper East Region after which he went into hiding.
He pleaded not guilty to all four charges preferred against him and is to reappear on January 21, 2011.
Mamudu Ndekudugu, a farmer, acted together with Ben Ndego Ayogo and Annas Abugri who were sentenced to 10 years each last December.
Prosecuting, Mr Samuel Obobi, Assistant State Attorney, said on December 20, 2010, the afore mentioned attacked and seized the belongings of Siita Moro and Osumanu Issah at Dabia including two unregistered Haodjin and Yamaha motor bikes, one mobile phone worth GH¢60 and cash of GH¢150.00.
He said the victims were slashed twice by the accused persons and were asked to surrender all their monies and other items they possessed.
The victims, sensing danger, had no option than to comply with the orders.
Mr Obobi said the accused persons immediately bolted with the items, but the victims raised the alarm and the community members helped to arrest Ben Ndego Ayogo and Annas Abugri.
The prosecution explained that Mamudu Ndekudugu, who was believed to have been trained by the notorious armed robber, Johnson Kombian, managed to escape.
He said whilst the search for Ndekudugu continued, the two suspects were handed over to the police who subsequently arraigned them before the Bolgatanga High Court where they were sentenced.
Siita Moro and Osumanu Issah pleaded guilty to all four charges of stealing, conspiracy to commit crime, unlawful threat and robbery.
