Police in Takoradi have arrested the supplier and suspected manufacturer of a fake Borges oil product.
Another supplier of fake capsules sold as cure for waste pains, piles and sexually transmitted diseases, has also been picked up.
Only last week, a 36 year-old man, Daniel Tarku, who served as a distributor of the fake Borges olive oil samples and the capsules, was arrested after he had was tricked by police officers to deliver the products to one of his unsuspecting buyers.
Police then traced his accomplices with the information he made available to them, and arrested the two suppliers who used Daniel Tarku as their conduit.
Takoradi Central Police Commander, DSP Dela Dzansi told Maxx News the supplier of the fake capsules known as toppey gona capsules, has claimed ownership of the product.
Meanwhile the supplier and suspected manufacturer of the fake Borges oil says he gets the product at the Aflao station in Accra. He has however failed to give out further information on the source.
DSP Dzansi says the suspect may not be telling the truth, and has been charged accordingly since they are convinced that he is the supplier and manufacturer of the product.
All three persons have been remanded into police custody to reappear in Court on September 9, 2011.
