FEED Ghana has marked the Christmas season with its annual Jollof with Santa celebration, delivering thousands of hot meals to street children in Accra and Kumasi.

The programme once again highlighted the organisation’s commitment to providing care, dignity, and support to vulnerable communities during a period of heightened need.

But beyond the festivities, the organisation has been quietly transforming the way Ghanaians support charitable causes. With digital engagement on the rise, FEED Ghana has introduced innovative fundraising tools that allow supporters to give quickly, easily, and consistently.

Speaking to JoyNews, Vivian Boamah, the charity’s Head of Fundraising and Programmes, explained that the organisation recognised the need to move beyond traditional donation methods.

“We realised that street collections and traditional fundraisers were no longer enough to meet the growing demand,” she said. “People are always on their phones, so why not make giving a part of everyday life?”

This insight led to the launch of a mobile-money donation platform, enabling supporters in Ghana and abroad to contribute within seconds. The system, the organisation reports, has already produced significant results, contributing to a more than 50 per cent increase in first-time donors.

“It’s simple and immediate,” Ms Boamah added. "You can donate during your lunch break or while commuting. Philanthropy is no longer seasonal, it is becoming a continuous part of people’s lives.”

According to FEED Ghana, long-term change lies in cultivating consistent giving habits. Ms. Boamah believes this shift will reshape the national culture around generosity.

“If everyone contributes a small amount regularly, no child will go hungry,” she affirmed. “Giving doesn’t have to be grand, it just has to be consistent.”

Since its founding in 2015, FEED Ghana has served meals to more than 7,000 street children and supported struggling families across major cities.

The organisation says its commitment to modern, accessible fundraising will help sustain these efforts in the years ahead.
