The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra was seriously gutted by fire Wednesday evening.
It took more than two hours for fire fighters to bring the raging fire under control, Joy News' David Youngs said.
What remains of the ten-storey building is its "skeletal" remains as apart from the Minister's office on the sixth floor and portions of the ground floor, the entire edifice was engulfed in the fire.
There were no serious casualties, except that a debris fell on one of the fire-fighters. The victim was rushed to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but police suspect arson.
This is the second time fire has engulfed a ministry building this year.
Early on, it was portions of the Deputy Minister of Information's office which caught fire.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammed Mumuni has described the incident as "a huge disaster of huge proportions" which has "serious implications."
"It is important to establish exactly what has happened [to] ascertain whether it was an act of God or an act of man," Alhaji Mumuni told Joy Super Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.
