Former Chief Executive Officer for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kojo Bonsu is preaching unity in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) which has been at war with itself since it lost the 2016 general elections.
Mr. Bonsu is worried that a fragmented NDC will find it difficult to bounce back if the ongoing bickering within the rank and file is not doused immediately.
Martin Amidu, former Attorney-General in the administration of late former president, John Evans Atta Mills in a recent publication, alleged that former president John Mahama deliberately appointed Mrs Charlotte Osei as Chair of the Electoral Commission to rig the 2016 election in his favour.
Days after the article, a former Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr in another article branded NDC Founder, Jerry John Rawlings as a hypocrite who sees nothing good in anybody except himself.
She also fired a shot at insider-turned-critic, Martin Amidu who was sacked by President John Evans Atta Mills.
On Tuesday, two members of the party, Evans Amankwaa and Abigail Mensah have submitted a petition to the party hierarchy citing the citizen vigilante of assaulting the spirit and soul of the party with his endless epistles and public utterances.
Worried that the wound suffered by the NDC, as a result, the embarrassing electoral defeat, could fester, Mr. Kojo Bonsu is embarking on a mission to bring tranquility back into the NDC with his message of unity: “Let’s stop the personal attacks and work together for success.”
