Former Member of Parliament for the Ekumfi constituency George Kuntu Blankson has picked nomination forms to contest the parliamentary elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Esuenhyia in the Central Region.
Mr. Kuntu Blankson is contesting the incumbent MP Hon. Abeiku Crentsil and one Chief Binney Harmiton in the party’s upcoming national delegates congress which has been slated for November this year.

The former MP arrived at the constituency office with his supporters and some senior members of the party.
They were Mr. S.L.K. Quansah, former Ghana Ambassador to India during the Rawlings administration, Nana Tweneboah, Adam Seidu, member of the NDC regional communication team and Mr. Fiifi Essuman campaign manager.

The form was presented to him by the constituency Director of Elections, Faisal Muhammed and witnessed by the constituency Chairman George Essilfie and other executives.
Receiving the nomination form Mr. Blankson appealed to the party electoral directorate to do well to provide a level playing field to the contestants.
He said their activities are being monitored by the people around them and therefore carry out their work diligently and in fairness.
In his response, Mr. Faisal assured him of the party’s effort to avoid partiality.
Addressing the supporters after he picked the form, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company and Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Parliament who says his decision to contest the primaries was in response to the persistent calls on by the constituents.
He promised to help fix the many challenges the constituency faces when given the mandate.

He said his defeat has helped shaped his political career which will enable him facilitate the expected development in his constituency.
He says the various development projects he did for the people in the past will boost his chances and further increase his electoral fortune in the 2016 general elections.
The former MP donated GHC500.00 to support activities of the party in the constituency.
He also donated tool kits to mechanics and head dressers to enable them start their own businesses as part of his effort alleviate poverty in the area.
